SUMMARY: Malcolm in the Middle follows the life of a dysfunctional family as seen through the eyes of a regular high school kid in a not-so regular life. Malcolm faces the daily challenges of coping with girls, school, and his overly embarrassing family.
His mother Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) is outspoken, opinionated and rules the roost despite her boys growing wise to her crafty ways. Hal (Bryan Cranston), a bumbling father and a big kid at heart, finds himself creating more chaos than his five boys combined, including Malcolm's nemesis Reese (Justin Berfield) who makes up for his lack of intelligence with deviance and mischief.

TRIVIA:
-The two wrestlers briefly featured in the opening credits are Bret Hart and Chris Benoit.
-The last name of the family has been revealed only once in the show, in the pilot episode, when Francis wears the name tag "Wilkerson" on his school uniform.
-In the episode where Hal takes the boys to the racetrack, it is revealed that Malcolm was named after Hal's favorite NASCAR driver Rusty Malcolm.
-Frankie Muniz won a Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Television Actor two years in a row (2003 & 2004).
